Platform

Glycoengineering Platform

A precision glycoengineering platform for monoclonal antibodies

Glyvantis Bio has developed a model-informed cell engineering platform designed to optimise galactosylation in Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cell production systems used for therapeutic antibodies.
The approach is based on CHOmpact1, a metabolic model describing antibody-producing CHO cell metabolism and the impact of glycosylation on cellular resource allocation.

How the platform works

The Glyvantis platform uses two targeted genetic modifications:
  1. 1.   removal of competing pathways that consume galactosylation precursors
  2. 2.   increased expression of enzymes responsible for galactose incorporation
This enables higher and more consistent galactosylation across antibody glycan structures.

Applications

Applications across antibody development and manufacturing

The Glyvantis platform supports multiple strategies in biologics innovation:
  1. Enhancing existing antibody therapeutics
Improve functional activity and consistency of clinically validated monoclonal antibodies.
  2. Lifecycle management and exclusivity extension
Enable differentiated follow-on biologics prior to patent expiry.
  3. Next-generation biologics development
Support improved antibody formats including bispecific antibodies and antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs).
  4. Manufacturing optimisation
Reduce variability in glycosylation during biologics production.
